ShotCaller Quick Start
Use this walkthrough for your first range session with ShotCaller.

1. Download the app
Section titled “1. Download the app”Install Shot Insights on your phone, then open it and sign in or create your account.
2. Create your profile
Section titled “2. Create your profile”Set up a ballistic profile before you shoot so your session has the right rifle and ammo details attached to it.
If you have not built one yet, start with your first ballistic profile.
3. Mount the target
Section titled “3. Mount the target”Attach the target to your steel with hook-and-loop so it is secure and centered for the impacts you want to capture.
Checklist:
- Press the target firmly into place.
- Confirm it is flat against the mounting surface.
- Make sure the strike area matches the steel you plan to use.
4. Mount the hub
Section titled “4. Mount the hub”Attach the hub to your rifle with its M-LOK mount so it stays secure through the session.
Before you continue, confirm the hub is firmly seated and does not shift under recoil or normal handling.
5. Connect your devices
Section titled “5. Connect your devices”Open the device flow in the app and pair the hub with your phone over Bluetooth. Once the hub is connected, confirm the target appears and is ready for use.

If you want the detailed pairing flow, use Pair the hub.
6. Range the setup
Section titled “6. Range the setup”Confirm the distance to target so your session reflects the correct range. Wait until the hub is ready, then verify the distance shown in the app before you begin shooting.
7. Review your session
Section titled “7. Review your session”After the first impacts are recorded, open the session details in the app and confirm:
- impacts are appearing on the correct target
- distance looks right
- the session is tied to the ballistic profile you selected
Field tips
Section titled “Field tips”- Check the LED status lights before you troubleshoot anything else.
- If a target is missing, move through the checks in Add and manage targets and Troubleshooting.
- Before your first shot, confirm the hub is connected, the target is online, and the distance looks right.
