Create a Simple Profile
A simple profile is the quick manual path. It covers the values most shooters need to get a working solution without opening the full advanced editor.
Worked walk-through
Section titled “Worked walk-through”Use this sample load: Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor 147gr ELD-M.
- Open Ballistics and start a new profile.
- Choose Simple Profile.
- Name the profile 6.5 Creedmoor - 147gr ELD-M.
- Set the caliber to 6.5 Creedmoor.
- Enter a Bullet Weight of 147 gr.
- Leave the drag model on G7 and enter a Ballistic Coefficient of 0.351.
- Enter a Muzzle Velocity of 2695 fps.
- Set Zero Range to 100 yd.
- Set Sight Height to 2.0 in.
- Choose the Reticle Units that match your scope.
- Save the profile and review the solution screen.
What to enter carefully
Section titled “What to enter carefully”- Ballistic Coefficient: this worked example uses the published G7 value for this load.
- Muzzle Velocity: use measured data when you have it.
- Zero Range: even a small mistake here changes every solution.
- Sight Height: measure from the center of the bore to the center of the optic.
- Reticle Units: match the app to your scope so your holds make sense.
When to use a simple profile
Section titled “When to use a simple profile”- You already know your load data.

- You do not need advanced bullet inputs on day one.
