Sensors & Integrations

Shot Insights can pull in current conditions from supported weather tools or let you enter the weather yourself. That weather data feeds the ballistic solution used across QuickSight, QuickShot, Long Range, and other parts of the app.

  • Connect a Kestrel or Kestrel DROP
  • Scan for a nearby Ruuvi sensor
  • Use a WindZero setup for live wind-aware workflows
  • Enter manual weather when you are not using an external sensor
  1. Open Sensors in Shot Insights.
  2. Check the list of found or saved weather sources.
  3. Connect, scan, or edit the source you want to use.
  4. Return to your ballistic tool and confirm the solution reflects the current conditions.

Connecting a new sensor for the first time requires Shot Insights Pro. Once connected, using it is included. If a feature is not included with your plan, the app will show the upgrade path in context.

Every saved sensor — Kestrel, Ruuvi, or WindZero — shares the same detail screen and controls, so the steps below apply no matter which one you are managing.

  1. Open Sensors and select the saved sensor you want to manage.
  2. On the sensor’s detail screen, use Disconnect to end the current connection without removing the sensor from your saved list.
  3. Use the Auto-connect toggle to control whether the app connects to this sensor automatically when it is in range.
  4. Use Forget Sensor to remove it from your saved sensors entirely. You will need to scan and select it again if you want to use it later.
