Your First Ballistic Profile

The fastest way to create your first ballistic profile is to start from the bullet library, then fill in the rest of your rifle and zero details. That path gets you to a working firing solution with the least manual entry.

You do not need to perfect every field on day one. Start with the information you know, save the profile, and refine it as you gather real range data.

Quick path

  1. Open the ballistics area in Shot Insights.
  2. Start a new profile.
  3. Choose the bullet library option.
  4. Pick your bullet, then complete the remaining rifle, cartridge, and zero details.
  5. Save the profile and make it active.

Best first goal

Aim for one complete, working profile rather than several partial ones. A single active profile makes it easier to verify your settings when you start using QuickSight or Long Range.
